Cultural Connector Initiative

  • Program Description

Cultural Connector Initiative (CCI) is a program that engages collaboratively with the African Nova Scotian community to identify needs and support equitable access to culturally safe DCS Prevention and Early Intervention supports for African Nova Scotian children, youth, families, and communities.

The CCI program is driven by local partnerships to increase the capacity of the DCS Prevention & Early Intervention system and the local communities to collaborate and respond to the needs of African Nova Scotian children, youth, families, and communities.

The Initiative is supported through:

  • Cultural Connector roles
  • Hosting Cultural Connections Service Providers
  • Local engagement of African Nova Scotian communities
  • Engagement with other Prevention & Early Intervention Service Providers
  • Formation of local Cultural Connections Community Roundtables
  • Program Locations

Cultural Connector Initiative is available through Family Service Nova Scotia in the Central and Eastern Regions of Nova Scotia.
