Family Service Nova Scotia is a community based provincial organization that has been offering a wide variety of programs and services to Nova Scotians since 1969. Supporting our service users is at the centre of everything we do!!

Family Service Nova Scotia (FSNS) continuously adapts to meet service user needs through collaboration with funding and community partners. FSNS provide services for individuals, families and communities across Nova Scotia, ensuring a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment.

FSNS employs a person-centered approach, treating each service user uniquely and working together to achieve personal goals. A trauma-informed approach is integrated into all operations, respecting service user’s experiences and resilience.

FSNS meets service users where they are at by offering flexible hours, a variety of modalities for engaging in service as well as connecting with service users in a number of locations including FSNS offices, community spaces and virtually.

Our mission at Family Service Nova Scotia is to work alongside individuals, families, and communities to honour their diversity, and strengths while creating space for self-exploration and support them in maintaining healthy relationships.
